Synopsis

Victoria, an elderly transgender woman, lives in a small town in the center of Honduras, where she has struggled towards finding acceptance.

Director's Statement

Sexual diversity is a fundamental issue in any country’s society, but the rejection generated by loving or being different from what our societies dictate is something that we cannot ignore. Through telling stories like Victoria's we take a step further towards the inclusion of our community, especially in Latin American countries such as Honduras, one of the nations with the highest crime rate against the LGTBQ + community in the world.

When my parents separated, we moved to the town where my mother was born, La Libertad, Victoria’s hometown. We all seek to be ourselves in whatever context we find ourselves in, Victoria is an example of representing that courage despite adversity. She has fought to be herself and over the years I realized the value and strength of this character because, despite the blows and violations of her rights, she has always been who she wanted to be. Victoria has lived her own victory and that is what I have sought to reflect on in this documentary as a celebration of her life.
